KES is looking for parent volunteers for the following committees:
School Advisory Council/Committee (SAC) – What is SAC? It is a group of parents, staff, and community members who meet monthly to discuss Ketterlinus’s school goals, and to make decisions that are in the best interest of the school. Meetings will be held the third Tuesday of the month at 7:45 a.m. If you interested, please email Bethany Hilbert at [email protected]
Media Advisory Committee – This committee will be reviewing book purchases, as well as reviewing titles from our current collection if the need arises. This group will meet 2-3 times this year, depending on the need. If interested, please email Kim Hinman at [email protected]

Important Information
Breakfast/Lunch – Click here to view the August menu. Prices are as follows: breakfast $1.25, lunch $2.80. Parents are encouraged to complete the free/reduced on-line form to see if they qualify, even if you do not need it, as the percentage of families that qualifies helps the school with possible federal funding to support learning. https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/food/free/ .
School Access – Our students’ safety is our number one priority at KES, therefore anyone who enters past the front office MUST scan their Driver’s License and have an approved School Access Form. The application process can take up to 4-6 weeks. To apply, go to https://stjohns.keepntrack.com/apply/ School Access lasts for 3 years, and it is the responsibility of the applicant to contact Volunteer Services or Donna Ott to renew the form. Please do not reapply, as this creates duplicate forms. If you have any questions, please contact Donna Ott at [email protected].
Tardiness – School opens at 7:55 a.m. Students are tardy if not in their classroom by 8:25 a.m. If a student arrives after 8:25 a.m. their parent/guardian must walk inside the front office to sign them in.
Car Tags – Car tags must be displayed on your rearview mirror when picking up your child in Parent Pick-Up. This helps the staff to identify you as someone who is allowed to pick up your student and gives staff the opportunity to radio ahead so that your child is ready at the curb for pick-up. In addition, to avoid being towed, please make sure you display your car tag when parked in our school parking lot. Parents/Guardians, you may purchase additional car tags for $2 (cash only) in the front office. I.D. must be presented when purchasing.
District News:
Covid Information – For the 2022-2023 SY, please refer to the St. Johns County School District Illness Guidelines found at https://www.stjohns.k12.fl.us/health/illness/ for general health concerns related to your child. There is no longer a dedicated district COVID hotline. For all future COVID-related testing, questions, or concerns, please consult your child’s pediatrician for guidance and recommendations. Should the pediatrician recommend your child stay home from school, please notify your child’s teacher(s) of their upcoming absence. Upon return to school, a parent or doctor’s note must be provided to excuse the absence. St. Johns County School District will no longer provide exposure notifications for the upcoming school year.
