KES Families & Friends  –

Thank you for your support and understanding with several emails to ensure we have a great start.

1)   Car Tags will be sent home on their first day*

Starting on Tuesday, Sept 8th – the day after Labor Day, car tags will be required when parking in our school lot or picking up your child in the parent pickup line.  Parking in our school lot after Labor Day, may result in your car being towed.

Use a black permanent pen when writing your child’s first name & last initial & grade since it won’t fade.   See attached photo for example.   car tag.jpg

2)  For the first day, please use a sheet of paper w/ your child’s first & first letter of their last name and place on passenger side dashboard.    See attached example. temporary tag.jpg

3)  Review the Parent Drop off/Pick Up procedures (video & document) by click on this link.

4)  Parking will be prime during the two weeks of school.  Consider parking in the “dirt lot” across from Arnett’s A/C or next to the gym.  Please walk your child to the designated cross walk in front of the school.

KES Families & Friends –

Below is a link from our district about school-based distance learning.  For those that are signed up for this option, please take the time to review the video and expectations.   As stated before, this distance learning is very different from what we did in the 4th quarter during the 19-20 school year.

Distance Learning for Elementary Students

Note the need for the parent or adult to be a learning coach to assist with elementary on-line learning.  In addition, there is an expectation of daily attendance, participation with increase rigor & accountability.

This video will be posted our the school website and KES PTO Facebook page.

Any changes to options should be done prior to August 17th by 9am.   We are finalizing class lists in order to meet the needs of all students.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

KES Families & Friends –

We are hosting a brief tour and orientation to the school for new families.   If you are new to our school, we encourage you and your child to attend.   We are hoping that we can orient your child to classes and key people in the school so that your child feels comfortable and safe.

We love our unique little school and are excited to meet you and your child.  Please sign up for a date/time by clicking here:   KES New Family Orientation/Tour.    Each tour is limited to (3) families, please sign up for (1) slot.   Each family may bring up to 3 people.   Everyone will need a to wear a mask/buff and have a health screening prior to the tour/orientation.

As a reminder, our school website and Ketterlinus Elementary School PTO Facebook page is being updated daily in the event you miss any information.   As a result of the pandemic, most information and forms will be done on-line.    Please continue to be attentive to emails and messages from our school & staff.

Please be checking your emails as more important information is coming this week!

Wishing you well,

KES Families & Friends –

As promised we are sending a lot of information via email to prepare for school reopening.  Information/forms will continue to be added to our website and reminders on our Ketterlinus Elementary School PTO facebook page.

As a result of the pandemic, we cannot do our normal “Meet & Greet” and drop off medication.   We have a new process for parents to drop off the necessary forms and medication by setting up an appointment.   Face masks and health screening will be required when entering the building.

If possible we ask that you limit the number of people coming in for the appointment.  Ideally, one parent and the student.    If your child cannot attend, no worries.   But it is nice for Nurse Lindsay to put a face to the name when possible.  : )

Please sign up for a time to meet Nurse Lindsay Robertson using this link.    The process will take 15 minutes or less.

Attach are copies of the school medication policy and medical medication plan authorization forms for two of the most common needs – asthma and allergies.   All other medical medication plans (CF, Cardiac, Bleeding Disorder…) can be found on our school website under departments – health clinic.   A reminder that a doctor’s authorization (signature) is required for forms.   They can be faxed to 904-547-8554, Attention:  Nurse Lindsay Robertson

Welcome to Kindergarten at Ketterlinus Elementary School.

Later this week, your child should receive a US stamped letter regarding his/her staggered start date.   Details are in the letter.

KES Families & Friends –

First, let me apologize that there will be several emails coming in the next few weeks.   Please take a few minutes to review them.   Due to social distancing, much information is now being shared electronically.   We will post links on our school website as well.

Happy Thursday KES Families & Friends –

Attached are two important documents.   First, is the REVISED 20-21 School Year Calendar.  There are some changes to spring break as well as the last day of the school year.    Also, the district has created an excellent document for parents & the community – “Returning to School Learning Options & Safety Protocols”.
