Ketterlinus Elementary School Media Center Policies and Procedures
Media Center Hours:
M, T, Th, F 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
W 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (to allow for staff development meetings)
Grades K, and 2-5 are provided with bi-weekly classes, providing a wide-variety of lessons and activities based on information finding skills, read alouds & literature enrichment, digital citizenship, STEM projects and growth mindset. The media center is always open to students for flexible access, even during scheduled classes. This flexible access allows for collaborative instruction as well as independent use.
Check Out Procedures
All students are required to have a permission slip signed by a guardian in order to check out library materials. Students are responsible to replace any lost or damaged items. Books & magazines circulate for two weeks. Reference books circulate for three days. A Date Due slip is placed in each item as a reminder to students!
Check Out Privileges
Kindergarten: 1 book at a time
Grades 1-5: 2 items at a time (which includes books, magazines and reference books)
Parents may restrict their child’s check out privileges if they choose. Please contact the media center staff to make these arrangements.
Parents may check out as many items as they would like.
