K-KIDS CLUB

We are so pleased to be able to offer K-Kids as an opportunity for our 4th and 5th grade students.  The K-Kids Club is sponsored by the St. Augustine Kiwanis Club.  Kiwanis is a worldwide service organziation of individuals who want to improve their communities.  Working together as a group, they can achieve more meaningful results than any one person could accomplish alone.   Like their Kiwanis sponsors, K-Kids Club members focus on community service, leadership, character and becoming positive role models for other students.

Our Kiwanis advisors for this year are Ms. Debbra Williams and Ms. Kerrianne Constant.  These two ladies are excited to be working with us this year and can't wait to get started.  How fortunate we are to have them help us plan, organize
and prepare for our K-Kids club meetings and projects!

As a club, we will be doing various school  and community service projects.  Projects will be decided on by the club members and meeting times will be used to work on predetermined projects.  Projects may include such things as:  canned food drive, making things for a local nursing home or for the Council on Aging, making "welcome baskets" for new students and collecting school supplies for students in need.

Last year was our charter year and membership was comprised of 3rd - 5th grade Student Government members and met during the school day.  This year we will be meeting as an afterschool club and will not be combined with Student Government.  Students will self-select and must meet a specific criteria.  Please see the application for specific criteria or call Mrs. Mary Warren at 547-8545.

I am so excited about helping with this wonderful organization at Ketterlinus.  What a wonderful opportunity for our students!  Please continue to check this page for updates.  I know you will want to hear about all the things that Ketterlinus K-Club is doing!!!

What are K-Kids?
The Kiwanis Club is an international organization focused on serving the children of the world.  The elementary-school component of the Kiwanis Family is called K-Kids.  K-Kids is a "student-led" community-service organization, sponsored by Kiwanis, which operates under school regulations and draws its members from the student body.  The K-Kids program focuses on encouraging service to school and community and on developing leadership skills.
