Hi! I am Mr. Paws, Mrs. Warren's Guidance Assistant. You may hear your children talking about me. I was born in Australia where Mrs. Warren's grandkids live and I came to my home at Ketterlinus and my new family. I love my new family!!!
I undertand that my new duties will include things like accompaning Mrs. Warren to classes to share stories and teach lessons about feelings, friendships, and self-esteem. I will also appear on the morning news show to help Mrs. Tucker by sharing information about things happening around our school. I know I have alot to learn about how to be a Guidance Dog, but I have already been learning and helping the boys and girls at KES.
When I got here I spend most of my summer with another Guidance Assistant at another school. My teacher's name was Chocolate Chip. He taught me many things about how to be a Guidance Assistant.
One of the things that Chocolate Chip shared with me was a book that he wrote about his first day of Kindergarten. Mrs. Warren and I liked the book so much that we asked Chocolate Chip if he would let us have a copy of the book to share with our Kindergartners. During the 1st week of school, Mrs. Warren and I read his story to all of the new Kindergartners at Ketterlius. Oh my, he sure had lots to learn! He learned that he needed to follow the rules, listen to the teacher and share and take turns. All the same things that our Kindergartners need to learn too!!
A copy of Chocolate Chip's book has been given to each of our Kindergarten classes so the children can bring the book home to share with parents.
